Things To Do With Ground Date Seeds

Ido Zimet

Here at Date Seed Coffee, we are known for our environment-friendly technologies and mind set. Some of our employees drive Toyota Prius to work or simply to friends across the street (to be honest we would like to drive Ferrari - but we do not have enough GREEN bucks for it). Others have solar panels on top of the roof of their homes ... even on their cloth.

Not wanting good things to go to waste we wrote up a list of some of the (unusual) things one can do with the used Date Seeds Coffee.

1) Absorb Bad Odors in your Fridge, Car, Room or Microwave

Used Date Seed Coffee grounds can be used much like baking soda for absorbing food odors in the refrigerator and freezer. Just load up a small open container with your old grounds, place it in the back of the fridge, then forget about it for a couple of weeks while you collect more grounds.

2) Fertilizer

You have used your date seed coffee ground to absorb those nasty smells why not make a further use of it?As an added bonus, after you remove smelly old grounds from the refrigerator or freezer, you can then toss them on the compost pile or use them for fertilizer!

Simply toss them on the compost pile or use them for fertilizer!

If you don’t have a use for date seed coffee ground fertilizer right away, go ahead and throw it on the compost heap. Date Seed Coffee grounds make for excellent “green” matter as they are rich in minerals. However, just be sure to limit the amount of grounds that you add to your pile so that you don’t throw off the ratio of “green” to “brown” matter. "Balance" is the key to life as well as after life (compost).

3)  Advanced Room Air Freshener

We all get this once every so often, your favorite stocking just got a hole. You are devastated, breathing becomes heavy, but do not worry. Now there is a new way to keep these stockings longer than ever. You can easily turn your stockings into an Advanced Room Air Freshener. Simply double-up the stockings, fill with date seed coffee grounds and then tie off.

4) Facial Exfoliant

Date Seed Coffee grounds are abrasive enough to scrub with but are soft enough to be used on your face. Gently massage a small amount of spent coffee grounds into your face to use as an exfoliant.

For the more advanced users of you, why not use date seed coffee waste ground as an excellent exfoliating body scrub!  Just add used grounds to a bit of warm water or your favorite all-natural oil. Then scrub your skin from head to foot to remove all of those not so friendly dead skin cells.
